Vintage Alvis Maintenance
These are schedules for maintaining both the 12/50 and the Six. The 12/50 is based on my personal experience and my reading of The Vintage Alvis Manual (TVAM) which is referenced throughout with Chapter/Paragraph numbers from TVAM. I produced the Alvis Six schedules for a friend of mine who had recently acquired a TB 14.75.
The individual pages may be viewed by clicking on "Schedules" or "Lubrication Charts" and then selecting the appropriate page.
There are three pages of Schedules which are grouped by miles e.g. Tasks to be done every 300 miles, 1,000 miles, 2,000 miles etc. or by frequency e.g. Weekly, Monthly etc
Against each task there is a check box so that you can keep a log of your maintenance.
There are six pages of Lubrication Charts. These are based on the standard Lubrication chart in the Alvis Instruction book but I have highlighted only those tasks which need doing at 500 miles, 1,000 miles etc
These notes are designed to complement TVAM as they contain references for each task to Micky Radford's manual.
"TVAM" does not always tally with the Instruction Book e.g. frequency of greasing king pins - 300 miles vs 500 miles etc and occasionally TVAM itself differs e.g. frequency of checking spark plug gaps; you can obviously make your own notes on what you decide…

This website contains my personal Maintenance schedule based on the late Micky Radford's "The Vintage Alvis Manual" and is supplemented by Lubrication charts from the Alvis TJ 12/50 Instruction Book. These notes are not intended as advice or guidance to the reader.
